| Our library
media center is a vital part of our classroom instruction and curriculum
support. Each class attends a weekly scheduled library time and has
access to open library time with the use of library passes.
Currently there are twenty-eight classrooms with 600+ students
whose media needs are being served. |
|

In order
to maintain an adequate collection, pupils, teachers, and parents must
cooperate to see that materials are returned in good condition. If
materials are not returned, a charge equal to the current replacement
price is required. The average price of a book is twenty dollars ($20).

The
library media center is truly the hub of the school with all faculty,
students, and other school personnel using its variety of media materials
on a regular basis. The LMC provides patrons with a book collection
of over 12,000 selections, various audiovisual materials and equipment for
classroom instruction and enhancement, and a staff desirous to serve the
needs of all.

Our library
staff consists of two adults. The library media specialist has a
bachelor's and two master's degrees with over 22 years teaching
experience. The library aide has been employed in the Springdale
School District for five and a half years as a kindergarten aide and a
Title I aide and is working on her third year as a library
aide. Both are eager to serve patrons' library needs in whatever way
possible.
